China Bar. Benton County.
China Bar is about one and one half miles west of Riverland on the south side of the Columbia River. Chinese workers on the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1882 would boat to the bar and pan for gold. Most left the area when the railroad moved on. The bar appears to be a part of the mainland. References: Button 2018; United States Geologic Survey Quadrangle 1948.
